The Paragon KM36T Pro 3 Zone is a professional-grade knife heat treating furnace designed for precise, uniform heating of longer blades and complex projects. With a spacious 36-inch deep ceramic fiber firing chamber, it offers rapid heating and cooling thanks to advanced space-age insulation. The kiln reaches 500°F in minutes, making it an ideal choice for bladesmiths seeking fast, efficient heat treating.
This kiln features 3-zone temperature control, where each zone has its own high-precision thermocouple sensor. The advanced Sentinel digital controller electronically manages each zone’s temperature, ensuring even heat distribution along the entire length of the firing chamber. This results in superior, consistent heat treatment for every blade.
Durability and ease of use are built in, with a solid-state relay that operates silently and lasts longer than mechanical alternatives. The relay is mounted on an aluminum heat sink to stay cool during operation and includes a secondary safety relay for added protection.
The guillotine-style door lifts effortlessly with one hand, keeping the hot side away from the user and providing years of dependable service thanks to heavy-duty springs and robust construction. A door safety switch automatically cuts power to the heating elements when the door is opened, while the controller continues to display temperature for safety and convenience.
The kiln’s solid construction includes 2.5 inches of ceramic fiber insulation and a built-in sturdy stand that keeps the firing chamber safely elevated. Thermocouple wires are well-protected inside the kiln case, built to withstand tough workshop environments.
Each kiln includes three special-limit wire thermocouples made in the USA, with exposed tips for fast, accurate temperature reading and excellent control during holds.

For those looking to minimize steel scaling during heat treating, an optional gas injection flow meter is available. This device regulates the flow of inert gas like argon into the chamber, displacing oxygen to reduce scale formation. It can be purchased as an add-on or factory-installed.

Paragon kilns are warranted to the original purchaser by Paragon Industries, L.P. (herein Paragon), subject to the listed exclusions below, to be free of defects in workmanship for the periods specified below. The warranty period begins from the date of shipment from the Paragon factory unless the date of the original purchase from an authorized Paragon distributor or dealer can be established.
