Paragon KM18T Knife Making Furnace – Medium-Length Heat Treating Kiln with Controller Options
The Paragon KM18T is a medium-sized heat treating furnace designed specifically for bladesmiths and knife makers who need precision and reliability. With an internal chamber large enough to accommodate most medium-length blades, the KM18T offers the perfect balance between size and performance—ideal for crafting knives, tools, and other metalwork projects.
This kiln features Paragon’s legendary dropped, recessed firebrick grooves, invented in 1952, which protect heating elements for long life and low maintenance. The furnace is insulated with refractory firebrick to ensure excellent heat retention and energy efficiency. The door opens downward with easy one-handed operation, and a counter-weight handle securely holds it closed during firing.
The KM18T comes equipped with your choice of two temperature controllers to fit your budget and firing needs: the economical Genesis Mini controller or the advanced Sentry Xpress controller. Both provide precise temperature control and reliable performance to help you achieve consistent heat treating results.
While most knives fit comfortably inside the KM14T, the KM18T offers extra length for longer blades, making it a versatile option that may be all you ever need. For even larger projects, consider the KM24T. Choosing a slightly larger furnace than needed offers flexibility without significantly increasing electricity usage.

Warranty Information
Paragon kilns are warranted to the original purchaser by Paragon Industries, L.P. (herein Paragon), subject to the listed exclusions below, to be free of defects in workmanship for the periods specified below. The warranty period begins from the date of shipment from the Paragon factory unless the date of the original purchase from an authorized Paragon distributor or dealer can be established.
