Product Overview
High Fire 1818 (Personal Size)
The High Fire personal size kilns are designed to reach the outer limits of ceramic firing by reaching cone 10! (cone 8 on the model 810)
High Fire Models are constructed of 3" firebrick that offers more insulation and ability to reach high temperature faster and easier. If your plans include firing up to cone 10 then the High Fire Series is made just for you.
Our personal size models fit well into any small studio and are even used by larger studios for testing and one-off work.
All High Fire models are equipped with our Swing View control enclosure for "stand-up" programming as well as multiple control choices including the TAP and Genesis touchscreens. Order yours with our solid state relays and never replace a relay again.
The HF 1818 is at home in the personal porcelain/china and clay studios.
For the porcelain artist, its large size allows for larger and more pieces and works particularly well in teaching situations.
The personal ceramic artist finds they can fire as they please without feeling the need to "fill the kiln". It's a very liberating size.
All High Fire models selected with TAP, Rampmaster or Icon+/Genesis controls are standard equipped with our Swing View pivoting control enclosure for easy use and viewing.
Available with our TAP Touchscreen, Icon+/Genesis Touchscreen or Rampmaster controls. Order yours with our Quiet Drive Solid State output option for tight temperature control and longer element life.

Orton VentMaster
With Downdraft Venting, the kiln is kept under a slight negative pressure. Gases are
pulled out of the kiln near the bottom, mixed with fresh room air and exhausted to the
outside through a duct. Improved air flow in the kiln results in more uniform
temperatures, reducing hot and cold spots.
Kilns cool faster when properly vented. In some cases, the kiln can cool down up to
four hours faster, meaning you can empty and refill the kiln in less time.
Downdraft venting can also extend the life of the metallic parts of your kiln by removing
corrosive fumes. This means longer kiln life and reduced repair costs.
So Why Vent Your Kiln?
• Fume Removal Improves Firings
• Extend the Life of Kiln Elements
• Cool Your Kiln Faster
• Improve Temperature Uniformity
